In-person event. Sycamore Canyon Trailhead, Newbury Park, CA.

Learn how to make a more accurate weather forecast for your microclimate before and during your next outings. Find out how climate change is impacting the Santa Monica Mountains and other regions across and beyond California. Direct your questions to the California Sky Watcher.

The program will begin with a presentation inside the Satwiwa Native American Indian Culture Center. Immediately after the talk, join a short guided hike to practice recognizing how weather and climate play such important roles in shaping our plant communities and landscapes.

Comfortable hiking boots, a reusable water bottle, and appropriate sun protective clothing with sunscreen are strongly recommended.
