Take a tour of the frogs and salamanders that inhabit California, a wild waterpark for amphibians! Returning popular Science Pub speaker Emily Taylor, Ph.D., will introduce you to Wandering Salamanders who glide between the tops of towering redwood trees, Red-spotted Toads who drink water through their lower bellies, and Pacific Chorus Frogs who throw rowdy all-night parties. Featuring beautiful photography and fun storytelling, this presentation celebrates the incredible diversity of our state’s amphibians and the publication of Dr. Taylor’s new book California Amphibians and How to Find Them, which will be available for purchase and signing.

Emily Taylor (also known as @snakeymama) is a professor of biological sciences at California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo, where she conducts research on the physiology, ecology, and conservation biology of reptiles and amphibians with her students. Her first two books are California Snakes and How to Find Them and California Lizards and How to Find Them. She lives in Atascadero, CA.

No tickets or reservations needed, but note that Science Pub is a popular program. Early birds get good seats, order food and drink at leisure, and enjoy a raffle to support science education and win Museum swag. Arriving close to 6:30 may land you in an overflow room or without a seat.
