Greg Sarris celebrates the release of The Forgetters at Book Passage, in conversation with Jane Ciabattari.

Greg Sarris is currently serving his sixteenth term as Chairman of the Federated Indians of Graton Rancheria and his first term as board chair for the Smithsonian’s National Museum of the American Indian. His publications include Keeping Slug Woman Alive (1993), Grand Avenue (1994, reissued 2015), Watermelon Nights (1998, reissued 2021), How a Mountain Was Made (2017, published by Heyday), and Becoming Story (2022, published by Heyday). Jane Ciabattari is the author of the short story collection Stealing the Fire, is a former National Book Critics Circle president (and current NBCC vice president/events), and a member of the Writers Grotto and She is a columnist for Lit Hub. Her reviews, interviews and cultural criticism have appeared in NPR, BBC Culture, The New York Times Book Review, The Guardian, Bookforum, Paris Review, The Washington Post, Boston Globe, and The Los Angeles Times, among other publications.
