Head over to Pegasus on Solano on September 7th at 6:30 pm sharp to welcome Berkeley Walks co-authors Robert E. Johnson and Janet Byron in conversation with Rodney Paul of Bay Area Trails Confidential. Together, they’ll be celebrating the release of the new Berkeley Walks: Expanded and Updated Edition (out this summer from Heyday Books) with a special neighborhood walk!
Led by Byron and Johnson, the 3/4-mile walk includes neighborhood paths and a historic home designed by John Hudson Thomas. The walk leaves promptly at 6:30 p.m. from in front of the bookstore, with an in-store discussion to follow at 7. Books will be available for purchase and signing at the event!
Details HereJanet L. Byron moved to California from New York in 1989 to attend the UC Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism. The first walking guide she purchased was Heyday founder Malcolm Margolin’s East Bay Out, and it introduced her to the joys of exploring nature (and cities) by foot. She has subsequently led walks for numerous local groups and served on the boards of Greenbelt Alliance and Berkeley Path Wanderers Association. Photo credit: Steve Price.
