Saturday, October 18 | 11:00 am – 1:00 pm
William Selby, native Californian, has explored, researched, and worked in every corner of the Golden State. He’s also the author of two books, “Rediscovering the Golden State” and “California Skywatcher.” During this colorful program, we will explore the interconnected geology, weather and climate, plants and animals, hydrology, and human impacts that rule in these mountains.
This talk will also be followed by a supplemental Nature Walk at the Idyllwild Nature Center for those seeking outdoor adventures with a naturalist. From rocks, to trees, to wildlife, and our sky dome, we will interpret the clues that reveal how nature has been calling out to all of us. Join Professor emeritus and author William Selby on this back-to-nature walk. Bring your curiosity, your questions, and your own stories.
