Inlandia Institute

The Riverside Public Library and Heyday Books have been working together to create the Inlandia Institute, a vibrant and joyous center of literary activity housed at the main branch of the Riverside Public Library. An outgrowth of Heyday Books' highly acclaimed anthology Inlandia: A Literary Journey through California's Inland Empire, the Inlandia Institute will nurture the rich and ongoing literary traditions of inland southern California. We envision an inclusive and collaborative enterprise that promotes writers with a regional voice and that stimulates a greater awareness of the area's diverse literary, artistic, and cultural heritage. We believe there is enough talent and passion in the area to create a literary renaissance of thrilling proportions; we see the Inlandia Institute serving as catalyst to that renaissance.
