Inspired by Al Gore's An Inconvenient Truth, this book was rushed to publication in order to face head on the unbridled growth of the nation's most productive agricultural region. Our Valley, Our Choice juxtaposes in dramatic graphic form the changes in the area's demographics and landscape with the problems fast-paced growth has created, and boldly explores solutions for the future.

Dubbed "America's breadbasket," the San Joaquin Valley produces one-quarter of the food America eats. But development is quickly changing the landscape of the region. The increasing urbanization of the Valley is a reality that evolving communities have always struggled with: how can the demands of development be met without destroying a vibrant way of life?
