THE 2ND ANNUAL HEYDAY HARVEST
The 2nd Annual Heyday Harvest

Join us in celebrating the 2nd Annual Heyday Harvest on Thursday, December 4, at Berkeley’s Hillside Club. Come meet our featured guests for a special evening of literary revelries: Pulitzer Prize–winning poet Gary Snyder; artist and illustrator Doug Hansen; California Indian writer and artist Kathleen Rose Smith; and former California Poet Laureate and award-winning writer Al Young.

Enjoy a wine bar, seasonal hors d’oeuvres, live music, a silent auction, and a book sale. The reception begins at 6:30 p.m., the program at 7:00 p.m. The silent auction will take place throughout the evening. The Hillside Club, a beautiful Arts and Crafts–style building, is located at 2286 Cedar Street in North Berkeley. Map

Silent auction items will include:

  • A woodcut print by San Francisco Bay Area artist Tom Killion
  • A botanical print featured in Nature’s Beloved Son by photographer Stephen J. Joseph
  • An Oakland Oaks baseball memorabilia package, including a 1940s replica team shirt and a reproduction of a 1948 team photograph with Billy Martin and Casey Stengel
  • Behind-the-scenes tours of the Lindsay Wildlife Museum and UC Berkeley’s C. V. Starr East Asian Library
  • A guided tour of Los Angeles by J. Michael Walker, the author and artist of All the Saints of the City of the Angels
  • An original illustration by Doug Hansen from the upcoming children’s book Mother Goose in California
Suggested donation is $60 per person to support Heyday Institute, an educational nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization.
