A Community Organizer's Tale

Mike Miller
, author of A Community Organizer's Tale, will read from and sign copies of his book to honor the 100th anniversary of Saul Alinsky. The documentary "Democratic Promise: The Legacy of Saul Alinsky" will be shown at 5:30 p.m. and the discussion and reading will start at 6:30 p.m.

About the Author

Mike Miller was born in San Francisco’s Mission District. He attended the University of California, Berkeley, and did graduate work in sociology at Berkeley and Columbia University. He directed community-organizing projects in Kansas City and San Francisco before starting ORGANIZE! Training Center. He has taught urban studies and political science at UC Berkeley, Stanford, and elsewhere. His articles on social justice issues have appeared in many publications, including Christianity and Crisis, Dissent, and the San Francisco Examiner.
